Concluding an amazing homecoming week, Overland students and their selected guests attended the Topsy Turvy Homecoming Dance that was held on September 14, 2019 from 8:00pm to 10:30pm in the East gym. Students danced and sang along to a number of songs, a crowd favorite being “Love Sosa” by Chief Keef. Even though it was a semi formal attire event, some students were dressed in more formal attire than others but everyone looked really comfortable and seemed to be having a great time. Students also had a chance to socialize with their friends in the midst of all the partying. Some students thought that this year’s homecoming dance was one for the books but others thought that it was not the best. Overland Junior Bemnet Alemu told The Scout that “Homecoming was fun, better than last year’s. It would have been better if it was in the big gym instead of the small one but the DJ played good music overall. Also, it would have been better if we started at 8:30 and ended at 11.” In contrast to this ,Overland Senior Blessyn Doyle told  The Scout that “Homecoming was wack because of the music, I guess I’m too old”.
